Dr. Mark Botham is a staff cardiac surgeon with the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Director of the Division of Thoracic and Cardiovascular surgery at Hillcrest Hospital. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Case Western Reserve University

Dr. Botham has a special interest in acquired adult coronary disease and reconstructive valvular heart disease. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

Dr. Botham was Phi Betta Kappa at the University of Wisconsin where he graduated with Honors and an undergraduate degree in biochemistry. He received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical School and completed his clinical training at the University of Michigan Medical Center where he was awarded a fellowship in thoracic surgery. He received research appointments at the University of Wisconsin in pathology and at the University of Michigan in thoracic surgery.

He has published articles in professional journals on topics such as primary cardiac lymphoma and production of human growth factor in saphenous vein and internal mammary artery segments in organ culture.

Dr. Botham is a Fellow in the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Cardiology, and the American College of Surgeons. In addition, he is a member of the American Medical Association, the John Alexander Society, the Frederick A. Coller Surgical Society, and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
