About George Dimeling, MD
George Dimeling, MD, is a heart surgeon in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular and Thoracic Institute. He sees patients at Cleveland Clinic main campus, Fairview Hospital, and Metro Hospital.

Experience: The Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery is one of the largest, most experienced cardiac and thoracic surgery groups in the world, caring for patients from all 50 states and around the world. Surgeons in the department offer virtually every type of cardiac surgery including elective or emergency surgery for heart valve disease, aortic aneurysm, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, Marfan syndrome and other less common conditions.
Dr. Dimeling has performed more than 1500 cardiac and vascular surgeries in the last 4 years. Prior to joining the Cleveland Clinic medical staff, he was Director of Aortic Surgery in Norfolk, Va., where he developed the thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) program and the Aortic Center. Dr. Dimeling is board certified in thoracic surgery.

Education: Dr. Dimeling earned his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia. He completed his surgical training in thoracic surgery at Stanford University Hospital, Palo Alto, Calif. He currently is pursuing an executive MBA at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner Executive MBA program at Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Dimeling is a US Navy veteran, having served onboard the USS Saipan, based in Norfolk, Va.
Publications and Speaking: Dr. Dimeling currently is involved in multiple clinical research. He has coauthored papers in Annals of Thoracic Surgery and chapters in cardiac surgery handbooks.
